Pullmantur Renews MTN Deal

MTN Communications (MTN) today announced that Pullmantur Cruises is renewing and extending its long-term relationship with the company.

Pullmantur chose to increase the breadth of communications services and support MTN will provide to its fleet, including an enhanced onboard suite of connectivity options for passengers and crew along with an expansion of its broadband satellite services.

Pullmantur has been an MTN customer since its founding 11 years ago in Spain.

A leader in catering to the bring-your-own-device (BYOD) audience, Pullmantur tailors its vessel communications services to accommodate both passenger and crew connectivity demands.  As such, Pullmantur will be updating the Wi-Fi infrastructure on its fleet.

This enhancement will enable more existing and new MTN communication offerings ranging from specialized apps, enhanced Internet and social media access, and calling solutions.

“We want our guests to have the best experience possible in all aspects of a Pullmantur cruise, and over the years we have relied on MTN for consistency and reliability,” said Antonio Diez, CFO, Pullmantur Cruises.  “During our relationship with MTN we have experienced the highest standards of quality, reliability and responsiveness; the full suite of products and services has been more than suited to support our passengers and crew.  It is clear our visions are aligned on how communications at sea should be managed.  We look forward to continued success and partnership with MTN.”

Pullmantur has signed up for broadband communications, crew calling and Internet Café services through its contract renewal.  Throughout the term of this extended agreement, MTN will continue to roll out new product offerings related to its next-generation network, known as MTN Nexus™.

“MTN looks forward to continuing its partnership with Pullmantur Cruises,” said Chris Leber, executive vice president, commercial business development, MTN.  “We share the same passion and vision for the future of communications at sea.   We have the technology and infrastructure that meets, and exceeds, its crew and passengers’ expectations, and we very much look forward to serving this important organization.”
