French Riviera Cruise Club Supports RCI to Help Children in Haiti

October 2012: loading donations to Villefranche-sur-merCCI Nice Côte d’ Azur, through the French Riviera Cruise Club and in partnership with Royal Caribbean International, took part in the “Volunteering , Environmental & Humanitarian Program” hosted by the company’s ships.

The Liberty of the Seas’ humanitarian project is to collect donations for the children of Haiti.

The Liberty of the Seas, which is a regular visitor to the Bay of Villefranche-sur-Mer, carries these donations to Haiti.

Last year, books and school materials was collected in Villefranche-sur-Mer with the help of the municipal council and the “Centre de Découverte du Monde Marin”.

These supplies were delivered just before Christmas last year. The ship took the opportunity during this operation to raise awareness among elementary school children of the importance of respecting the countryside and protecting the environment.

Students and their teachers are very grateful for this operation which has allowed them to finalize their project to create a library. The surplus of books was sent to other public schools, and medical aid was collected by the Red Cross.

This year, the Director and some of the teachers of the Haiti school, expressed their need for toys and games.

The FRCC is therefore renewing its support for this project by participating in the collection of 3m3 of games and toys that will be shipped to the children of Haiti on board the Liberty of the Seas from Villefranche-sur-Mer on Tuesday, 22 October.
