After being detained by Swedish authorities after a routine inspection, Portuscale Cruises’ 1961-built Funchal is now officially underway from Gothenburg. Her destination is the Orkney Islands as originally planned.
The 9,500-ton liner can hold 524 passengers, but only some 280 are onboard after the delay, according to a source familiar with the situation.
