Norwegian Partners for More Rail Packages in Alaska

The Rocky Mountaineer train has announced a new global partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line, which will offer even more Rail and Cruise holiday options in 2014.

Connecting with Rocky Mountaineer’s new Coastal Passage rail route out of Seattle, WA as well as train departures from Vancouver, BC, guests are invited to experience a stunning rail journey through the Pacific Northwest and the Canadian Rockies before or after their Norwegian cruise to Alaska.

There are five different Rail and Cruise vacation packages available through Rocky Mountaineer for travel in 2014.

Each itinerary offers a unique opportunity for travelers to make the most of their visit to Western Canada and Alaska by linking the Rocky Mountaineer train with cruises on three of Norwegian’s ships: Norwegian Jewel, Norwegian Pearl and Norwegian Sun.

“We are delighted to enter into this global partnership with Norwegian Cruise Line, which aligns perfectly with our brand in offering world-class service and an exceptional experience,” said Bob Nicholas, Vice President, Global Sales of Rocky Mountaineer.

“In our research, we have found that nearly half of all of our guests combine our rail journeys with an Alaskan cruise and with this new agreement, both Rocky Mountaineer and Norwegian have come together to combine two dream vacations into one by both land and sea.”

“Norwegian and Rocky Mountaineer have had a strong relationship for many years and we’re very pleased to now expand that to a global partnership,” said Francis Riley, Vice President and General Manager International for Norwegian Cruise Line.

“Norwegian’s Freestyle Cruising concept is a natural fit for Rocky Mountaineer’s guests, looking for freedom and flexibility along with top-line service and amenities for a spectacular Alaskan vacation experience.”

One of the most popular packages to add a Norwegian Cruise Line Alaskan Cruise to is the Canadian Rockies Highlights and Coastal Passage. Including the cruise, this holiday ranges from 13-14 days in length depending on direction selected.
