Free Tours on Select Fred. Olsen Sailings

  • May 15, 2013

Two of Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines’ longer voyages in 2013 have just become  better value for money, with two free shore excursions now included in the price for each cruise, representing a saving of up to £500 per cabin.

The cruises are Black Watch’s ‘Turkish & Greek Odyssey’ of 28 nights, W1320, departing from Dover on 19th October 2013, and Boudicca’s ‘Red Sea Cruise’ of 30 nights, D1327, departing from Southampton on 18th November 2013. 10% commission applies.

Nathan Philpot, Sales and Marketing Director for Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines, said:

“These two 2013 cruises are already excellent value for money and offer some really exciting ‘voyage of a lifetime’ itineraries. Now, with the additional shore excursions all part of the cruise price, they will be unbeatable, with savings of up to £500 per cabin; we would urge agents to make the most of promoting these unique special offers.”

Black Watch’s Turkish & Greek Odyssey’

This cruise visits a host of historic ports; first the Portuguese capital, Lisbon, then La Goulette (for tours to Tunis, Tunisia), Izmir (Turkey), Istanbul (Turkey) for an overnight stay, and Canakkale (Turkey). On the Greek sector of this cruise, Black Watch calls at Volos, then Piraeus (for tours to Athens), for another overnight stay; the ship then visits Kalamata, Itea and Kerkira (Corfu), and makes final calls at Valletta (Malta) and Gibraltar, before returning to Dover.

Prices for this historic cruise start from £2,299 per person, based on two adults sharing an inside, twin cabin, and include all meals and entertainment on board, and port taxes.

The two free tours on offer with this cruise are as follows (subject to availability):

‘Athens & The Acropolis’

This a four-hour tour from Piraeus, taking guests by coach around Europe’s most historic capital, Athens. The highlight is a visit to Athen’s most famous attraction, The Acropolis, site of many ancient myths and legends.

‘Troy’

This three-hour shore excursion is from Canakkale (Turkey) to ‘Troy’, the immortal city of the legendary Helen and the Trojan horse, which was declared a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1998.

An additional attraction on this cruise, also at no extra cost, is a special-interest theme of ‘Great Seafarers’ through the award-winning onboard enrichment programme, Vistas, hosted by maritime historian, Doctor Roger Cartwright.

Boudicca’s ‘Red Sea Cruise’

This voyage calls first at the Spanish port of Malaga, then Cagliari (Sardinia, Italy), Trapani (Sicily, Italy), Alexandria (Egypt) and Port Said (Egypt), before traversing the Suez Canal.  Boudicca next visits Safaga (Egypt), Sharm el-Sheikh (Egypt) for an overnight stay, and Aqaba (Jordan), also for an overnight stay. After returning through the Suez Canal, she visits Catania (Sicily, Italy), Valletta (Malta), Gibraltar and, finally, Ferrol (Spain), before returning to Southampton.

Prices for this stunning cruise start from £2,499 per person, based on two adults sharing an inside, twin cabin, and include all meals and entertainment on board, and port taxes.

The two free tours on offer with this cruise are as follows (subject to availability):

‘The Lost City of Petra’

From Aqaba, take a full day’s tour to the Nabataean city of Petra, an ancient city of legend, and home to massive sandstone tombs, dating back over 2,000 years.

‘Cairo’

The other unmissable shore tour included in the cruise price is a real ’must-see’; a twelve-hour tour to Cairo from Alexandria, taking in the last remaining ‘Wonder of the Ancient World’, the Pyramids of Giza, the majestic Sphinx, and the fascinating Egyptian Museum of the Antiquities.
