Immigration Bill To Help Cruise Industry?

The 800-plus-page bipartisan immigration bill staring down the U.S. Senate also includes a number of other provisions, according to recent reports, including one to help the cruise industry.

The bill has recently come under fire for the number of provisions attached. Florida Senator Marco Rubio has included a provision allowing “certain foreigners to repair cruise ships made abroad,” according to a Wall Street Journal report.

A number of lines face challenges flying in skilled or speciality workers to repair ships in countries with strict immigration laws and visa requirements, including both the United States and China.
