Andrea Tavella, Sales & Marketing Director for Costa Cruises since 2007, has taken on a dual position with the corporate sales and marketing department.
He will be in charge of heading the Trade Business Development Department, whose main objective is to provide full support to the trade and business departments of the various markets worldwide in expanding the distribution of the Costa product through the traditional channel of travel agencies.
As IMEA, NENA Sales & Marketing Director, Andrea Tavella will also be in charge of coordinating sales and marketing activities in the markets of Northern, Central and Eastern Europe, North America, Middle East, Africa and India.
Thanks to the great experience gained over the past years as head of the Sales & Marketing Department for the Italian market, Andrea Tavella is taking on the dual position with the aim of fulfilling the great potential of major strategic markets which play a crucial role in Costa’s growth process. Andrea Tavella will be reporting directly to Norbert Stiekema, Executive Vice President of Sales & Marketing.
The Italian market of Costa Cruises will be headed by Carlo Schiavon, the new Sales & Marketing Director Italy, who will return to Costa after a 3-year period with Valtur as General Manager Operations. In his previous experience with Costa, Carlo Schiavon actively contributed to organizing the trade and business structures in Costa Crociere and Iberocruceros.
The reason for these changes lies with Costa’s international calling as the largest Italian travel group and Europe’s no.1 cruise company. Andrea Tavella’s new position guarantees the expansion of strategic markets, while Carlo Schiavon’s return provides additional stability to one of the company’s key markets.
