Survival Craft Inspectorate (SCI), a global provider of emergency marine evacuation systems, is to launch a new division at the Cruise Shipping Miami 2013 exhibition.
The new division of SCI will supply, install and maintain emergency liferafts for the commercial cruise shipping and energy markets. SCI will initially open three offices in the United Kingdom, with the first being at the company’s Findon operation.
Initially 10 jobs will be created across the three new operations.
Survival Craft Inspectorate is one of the world’s leading suppliers of lifeboat safety release systems and lifeboats for the energy and cruise markets. The company has 10 operations worldwide – including two in the United States – and plans to achieve turnover of £25m ($39million) by the end of the year.
SCI will be highlighting its products and service offerings at Booth 2328 at Cruise Shipping Miami.

Survival Craft Inspectorate has more than 20 years’ experience in the manufacture, inspection, testing and servicing of lifeboats, fast rescue craft, release mechanisms, winches and davits to international standards for the global merchant shipping, cruise and oil and gas sectors.
Its acquisition of the RocLoc trade and assets, from St John’s-based Mad Rock Marine Solutions Inc, gave the company enhanced access to the cruise ship safety market.
The patent-protected RocLoc hook system, combined with Survival Craft Inspectorate’s Safelaunch® lifeboat release system strengthens the company’s place in the market ahead of new safety regulations coming into force in 2014.
The company operates from Findon, near Aberdeen, and Great Yarmouth in the UK, Florida and Houston in the United States, Canada, Norway, Singapore, Malaysia and Western Australia. It opened a new operation in the Middle East in mid-2012.
