Grand Turk Calls Suspended For Now

Cruise lines have suspended transit calls, temporarily, at Grand Turk following reports of gastroenteritis.

The port facility is operated by Carnival Corporation and used by a variety of cruise brands.

“Although not confirmed, we are investigating whether there may be a link with consumption of food and beverages while guests were ashore in Grand Turk,” said a statement from Miami-based Carnival.

“Therefore, in an abundance of caution and because the well-being of our guests is our highest priority, various cruise lines, including ours, have canceled calls to Grand Turk and are continuing to monitor the situation while the cause of the illnesses is being determined.”
