Alabama Celebrates 40th Anniversary with Music Festival at Sea

With over 73 million records sold, 43 #1 singles, and more than 150 music industry awards, there is still one thing country music legends Alabama have not accomplished – setting sail on vacation with their biggest fans for a country music festival at sea.

In celebration of the band’s 40th Anniversary of their first show at The Bowery, Alabama is teaming up with Sixthman, the industry leader in music festivals at sea, to invite some of their favorite bands and fans to join them on board Norwegian Pearl for a four-night cruise from Miami to Nassau, Bahamas and Great Stirrup Cay, Norwegian’s private island in the Bahamas, on October 24, 2013.

Guests sailing with Alabama will enjoy two outdoor concerts from the full band, performances from each of the individual Alabama band members and one autographed cruise poster per stateroom. Guests in each stateroom will also get a rare opportunity to take a photo with the band. In addition, Alabama will be hosting more than a dozen other music acts to celebrate with them on board, treating guests to amazing performances and artist-hosted activities throughout the course of the festival.

Entertainment, meals, and access to Norwegian Pearl’s outstanding amenities, including two pools, hot tubs, rock climbing wall, and fitness center are included in the fares. Beginning today, fans can read more about the event and sign up for the Alabama & Friends Festival at Sea pre-sale at www.alabamafestivalatsea.com. Staterooms go on sale to the public on March 20, 2013.

“I’m looking forward to enjoying my very first cruise! We have some exciting things in-store for the fans and look forward to making this a lifetime memory for everyone onboard. This will be a one of a kind experience where we truly get to share time together with our biggest supporters over the years. We pride ourselves on creating unique experiences and are excited to embark on this new venture which will not disappoint. I’m bringing my extra large belt because I hear the food is great. Hope you can join us!” said Teddy Gentry, founding member of Alabama.

Fares for the Alabama & Friends Festival at Sea start at $750 per guest, plus taxes and fees. Announcements regarding the festival are scheduled to follow soon detailing additional performing artists, artist-hosted activities, theme night information, contest additions, activity details and more!
