Agilysys, a leading developer of software and solutions for the cruise industry, showed off its InfoGenesis Point-of-Sale (POS) Solutions for cruise ships today via a webinar.

The one hour presentation detailed the company’s POS system, with Ryan McCloud, senior sales engineer, going through the attractive points of the Agilysys solution.

The POS system is housed in a terminal set up for a single environment such as concessions, with the idea that it will keep the line moving.

A few clicks can, however, change the system to formal dining or bar service.

An open systems approach means Agilysys will not force a client into hardware or software choices.

The webinar, attended by a handful of cruise line management, showed that the Agilysys system is very customizable; clients can choose button layout, among just about anything else.

“In addition, the idea is to keep things moving as fast as possible,” said McCloud, pointing to one item having different price points per venue and also during different times of the day (for example: Happy Hour).

But there were many more options, such as price fix buttons in the system with up-sell options among other features.

Finally, Agilysys offers a tablet version and the main InfoGenesis software can come up with a variety of sales reports, all exportable, tracking usage, per-employee-performance and much more.
