Proposed Royal Caribbean Terminal in Montevideo Runs into Problems

A proposed Royal Caribbean terminal in Montevideo, Uruguay, has run into trouble, according to media reports coming from South America.

Port executives said they had evaluated a $40 million cruise terminal, but could not commit as the port is “multipurpose,” meaning they could not guarantee a space for cruise operations.

The proposal called for an exclusive cruise terminal along with a 200-room hotel, shopping mall and cultural center.

Port bosses went onto say that they are not denying the idea, but cannot approve the plan proposed.
