CVC Looking for Tonnage?

Brazilian tour operator CVC is reportedly looking for tonnage for the upcoming 2012/2013 season, according to sources in South America.

CVC, which has previously chartered ships from Pullmantur, is poised to deploy tonnage to the Fernando de Noronha itinerary, an archipelago in Brazil, but with passenger capacity restrictions.

Last season, CVC chartered the Ocean Dream, but Pullmantur has since chartered that vessel long-term to Peace Boat.

There are limits in Noronha when it comes to the number passengers allowed ashore and on the amount of time the ship is permitted to berth, due to environmental legislation for the islands.

CVC did not respond to questions from Cruise Industry News, while ISP, a ship broker rumored to be involved, declined to comment.

Louis Group, which CVC has chartered from in the past, also did not respond to questions.
