Star Clippers will embark on its first ever Baltic season this summer, on the Star Flyer, with itineraries starting with three nights.
In addition are three voyages wrapped around sailing parades in Hamburg which were already sold out in January, according to Mark Carlson, director of marketing for the three-ship operator.
With one ship in the Baltic, the Royal Clipper and Star Clipper will spend the summer in the Mediterranean.
“We are keeping our eye on the Eastern Mediterranean,” said Carlson, referring to the Star Clipper, which is based out of Athens. “The way things are going, our competition is sticking around … and the bookings are coming in.”
Also notable is the Costa Rica winter season on the Star Flyer, while the other two ships are in the Caribbean.
“Costa Rica has a soft adventure angle, it is really popular with our guests, there is so much to do there in terms of birding and wildlife,” Carlson explained.
Besides two 10- and 11-night sailings in December, the Star Flyer offered alternating week-long voyages this past winter, departing from Puerto Caldera. Carlson expected a similar program next season.
