Fred. Olsen’s Black Watch has been overhauled for her winter season at Lloyd Werft. The ship was lengthened at the yard 1984, when she sailed as the Royal Viking Star. Now, the 28,613-ton, 205.46-meter long ship has been back in Bremerhaven for repair and conversion work. The Black Watch, which was originally built in 1972. was overhauled in just nine days.

Apart from routine hull cleaning and painting, new life boat davits were installed. In addition, both stabilizers were overhauled ashore and the bow thruster was replaced. Steel work was required in the tanks along with maintenance and repair work in the machinery, electrical engineering and steel sectors.
