Costa Pacifica has sailed into the record books at Lerwick, with the 114,500-ton vessel becoming the largest cruise ship yet to visit the Shetland port, just four days after the 113,651-ton Crown Princess broke the previous record.
Both also set new highs for the most passengers on a single vessel at Lerwick – Crown Princess with 2,997, then Costa Pacifica, with 3,007 mainly German passengers on board, en route from Kiel, Germany, to Reykjavik, Iceland.
Lerwick is set for a record cruise season, with 53 vessels scheduled to visit this year.
