American Safari Celebrates Inaugural Season in Hawaii with June Promotions

  • May 25, 2011

To highlight its inaugural season sailing active, adventure un-cruises in Hawaii, American Safari Cruises adds incentives for travel agents to book clients on the upscale 36-guest Safari Explorer. For bookings made from June through July 29, 2011, travel agents may offer clients a $150 travel credit per person, and for the agent, each booking is an entry in a drawing for a complimentary Hawaiian Islands cruise.

“This small-group adventure cruise among the Hawaiian Islands is a new type of Hawaiian vacation,” said Tim Jacox, executive vice president of sales and marketing. “Because it’s not something clients know to ask for yet, we are reaching out to inform our travel agent partners on the incredible attributes of seeing and experiencing Hawaii on an upscale yacht.”

Sailing weeklong or 10-night active, adventure itineraries between Maui and the Big Island from November 2011 through April 2012, the all-inclusive, upscale 36-guest Safari Explorer visits Moloka’i, Lana’i and Molokini.

For new bookings made between June and July 29, 2011, travel agents may offer their clients a travel credit of $150 per person or $300 per couple. The credit is intended to help guests defray air costs to the Hawaiian Islands where they will embark on their adventure cruise.

Each cabin booked from June through July 29, 2011 earns travel agents one entry into a drawing for a complimentary weeklong cruise for two aboard the Safari Explorer in Hawaii. The cruise may be booked 45 days prior to departure based on availability for departures from November 2011 through April 2012. Airfare and crew gratuities are not included. The drawing will be held August 3.

Travel agents who have completed Yachtalist training may take advantage of an additional $200 discount off regular familiarization rates on Hawaii cruises bringing the rate to $795 for the agent and $995 for companion. To join the Yachtalist Club, travel agents must participate in three web presentations and pass an exam. The Yachtalist program educates agents on American Safari Cruises’ three luxury yachts—12-guest Safari Spirit, 22-guest Safari Quest and 36-guest Safari Explorer—which cruise in Alaska, Columbia and Snake Rivers, Mexico’s Sea of Cortés and the Hawaiian Islands.

To further celebrate and draw attention to Hawaii during the month of June, American Safari Cruises will participate in Virtuoso’s Hawaii Virtual Travel Show on June 2, 10:00 a.m.—6:00 p.m. PDT. And Discover a New Aloha web presentations on the Hawaiian Islands itinerary are scheduled for June 21 and July 7. Agents can register online through the travel agent portal at AmericanSafariCruises.com.

Flexible yacht itineraries focus on the leeward side of the eastern-most Hawaiian Islands. The unstructured itinerary allows time for seeking wildlife such as Manta rays, dolphins and humpback whales. Outfitted for active adventures, the yacht’s well stocked water sports equipment includes kayaks, paddle boards, snorkeling gear, wet suits, sailboats and inflatable skiffs for up-close excursions. Guided snorkeling tours are a highlight throughout the trip. Two knowledgeable expedition leaders guide hiking and kayaking tours. Bicycles are also available for guest use on Moloka’i and Lana’i.

The Safari Explorer has an on-deck hot tub, sauna, exercise equipment, a wine library and two large-screen TVs in the main salon. Exceptional cuisine is prepared with fresh, local ingredients and the complimentary bar offers premium spirits, fine wines and microbrews. The active spa environment includes a complimentary massage and yoga classes. All staterooms offer Tempur-pedic mattresses, flat screen TV/DVD players and iPod docks. Upper category staterooms feature Jacuzzi tubs and suites have private step-out balconies.
