Starting from March 28th 2011, Costa Crociere’s business will develop a new position in its top management structure: a Corporate Sales & Marketing profile covered by Norbert Stiekema. In order to maintain its leadership position, remain ground breaking and compete in the global market, Costa Crociere has decided to invest in a new profile accordingly to the changes in the business dictated by the evolution of travel agencies and new digital distribution channels and by the booming of social media.
Norbert Stiekema, 47 years old, married, with 4 children, with a passion for travelling and music, has grown a big experience in sales and marketing in the tourism industry. He has covered many International jobs firstly in KLM where he began his career, then in 2004 in Eurodisney Paris, where he is currently Senior Vice President Sales & Distribution for Walt Disney World, Disneyland and Disney Cruise Line in EMEA.
During his career Stiekema has developed a strong knowledge on distribution channels –both traditional and electronic-, pricing and revenue management in the tourism industry.
His international profile includes a thorough knowledge of Italy. During his career with KLM, Stiekema has gained significant experience working in Italy; he also speaks fluent Italian as well as Dutch, English, French, German.
Stiekema will refer directly to the President Gianni Onorato and will manage the Sales Departments world-wide (Italy, France and Benelux, Spain and Portugal, Germany, UK & Growth Markets, North & Central America, South America, Asia-Pacific). At HQ’s level he will also be responsible for Corporate Marketing and World-Wide Sales Services Departments.
