Archives: Costa Carla A

The Costa Carla C, pictured above sometime during service for Costa Crociere.

The vessel was originally launched as a French ocean liner – named Flandre, sailing for French Line. Costa bought the ship in the late 1960s, renaming it the Carla C.

The Carla C served for Costa until 1992, and being renamed the Carla Costa along the way (around 1986), while sailing various Caribbean itineraries.

Costa sold the ship to the now-defunct Epirotiki Line in 1992, who renamed her Pallas Athena. The vessel was scrapped in 1994 after a major fire.
