Foreship Ltd. has appointed Janne Lietzen as managing director. Lietzen will assume the position as of Jan. 1, 2011. Markus Aarnio, managing director since founding the company in 2002, will remain with Foreship, concentrating on other tasks.
Lietzen has served as technical manager for Royal Caribbean International since 2006, working on newbuilding projects, including the Oasis and Allure of the Seas. From 2004 to 2006 he was vice president of design and engineering for the Almaco Group in Finland. Before that he served as a department deputy manager for Deltamarin.
Lietzen holds Master of Science degree in naval architecture from Helsinki University
of Technology.
Foreship is a ship design and engineering company providing a broad range of services to the shipping industry. Working in all areas of ship design, the company has some 40 employees, including naval architects, marine engineers, structural engineers, interior architects, electrical engineers and interior and HVAC designers.
Based in Helsinki and Turku, Finland, Foreship’s experience includes large-scale conversion projects, structural engineering and newbuilding concept designs. Customers include the largest cruise lines and other shipowners, shipyards and maritime suppliers worldwide. Annual revenues were 3.7 million euro in 2010.
