AIDA Ship for 2012 Named AIDAmar

The ninth AIDA Schiff will be named AIDAmar. The new vessel will be presented to the public during the 823rd Hamburg Port Anniversary celebrations with the world’s biggest ever ship-christening ceremony on 12 May 2012.

For the first time in the history of the cruise industry, the three identically designed sister ships, AIDAluna, AIDAblu and AIDAsol, will accompany the latest addition to the fleet as godparents during a parade of ships in the Port of Hamburg.

The sister ship, AIDAsol, will be christened beforehand in Kiel on 9 April 2011 and, for the first time, AIDA is looking for a godmother for this new vessel online. Ladies can apply for this honor online in the Aida Weblounge from 15 January 2011. Current information on the search for the godmother can be found at www.aida.de.
