A scene from the christening of Festival’s first newbuild, the MS Mistral, in 1999. The Mistral was the first in aeries of newbuilds for the company, and was approximately 47,276 tons. The European Vision and European Star followed in 2001 and 2002, with all three ships being built at Chantiers de l’Atlantique in France, before the company went bankrupt in 2004. Currently the Mistral sails for Iberocruceros as the Grand Mistral.
