Orion Expedition Cruises Adds Free Air

Adding to its already-enhanced itineraries to Australia’s rugged Kimberley region, Orion Expedition Cruises is offering free airfare to voyagers who book an upcoming Kimberley expedition. Known as Australia’s only international-standard, five-star expedition cruise line, Orion is presenting this enticing travel deal for Kimberly itineraries departing May 11, May 20, June 9 and June 20, 2010.

Featuring unparalleled service standards, Orion Expedition Cruises boasts the most exclusive Kimberley experience in the Southern Hemisphere. In addition to free airfare from Los Angeles*, the expedition features a complimentary pre- or post-sailing land package, including overnight accommodations in Broome’s finest hotels, with breakfast and transfers – all included in the price of the cruise, no extra costs involved. Rates for the Kimberley expedition begin at US $7,735 per person, based on double occupancy and availability.

Orion’s 11-night expedition to the Kimberley region sails from Broome, venturing to the Lacepede Islands, Montgomery Reef, and King George River. Recent enhancements to this itinerary include the following:

• A Visit to the Port of Wyndham – Guests receive the opportunity to visit the oldest town in the Kimberley region, established in 1885 as a result of a gold rush in Halls Creek, and Kununurra, located in the heart of East Kimberley, with sites including the Ord River and Lake Argyle.

• Complimentary Bungle Bungle “Flight-Seeing” – The Bungle Bungle Range comprises a part of the breathtaking Purnululu National Park, a World Heritage Site and natural wonder seen firsthand by only a privileged few. Brought to the world’s attention only 25 years ago, the range – famous for its visually-striking sandstone domes – is best experienced by air, and is a short flight from Wyndham or Kununurra. Orion Expedition Cruises will be the only cruise operator in the region to offer this amazing “flight-seeing” experience as part of its enhanced Kimberley voyages, at no extra cost.

• One-Night Complimentary Accommodations – As an added bonus, Orion will provide overnight accommodations in one of Broome’s finest hotels before or after the 10-night voyage. Including breakfast and transfers, this additional night allows guests to experience an 11-night Kimberley adventure for the cost of a usual 10-night expedition.

The cruise line’s only ship, the MV Orion, is a 53-cabin luxury expedition vessel accommodating 106 guests and a crew of 75 – the highest staff-to-guest ratio of any Australian passenger ship. Onboard luxuries include elegantly-appointed staterooms with ocean views, private marble baths with Lanvin toiletries, spa treatments at the intimate Vega Health Spa, and world-class dining by Sydney chef Serge Dansereau in the Constellation Restaurant.
