Costa Maya, one of Mexico’s largest cruise ports and emerging destinations, will welcome European cruise lines Pullmantur and Tui Thomson to its 2010 itinerary.  The two cruise lines join twelve others set to call Costa Maya this year, continuing the port’s re-emergence as one of the Western Caribbean’s and Mexico’s top ports.

“The arrival of Pullmantur and Tui Thomson cruise lines will raise further awareness of Costa Maya in the international market,” said Teofilo Hamui, president of Costa Maya. “With each new ship calling, we have the opportunity to demonstrate our world-class facilities and commitment to the passenger experience, while also positively impacting our local business partners and surrounding community.”

In 2010, new facilities will enhance the dining and entertainment offerings at Costa Maya. The Hard Rock Cafe, to be located less than 1,000 feet from the port’s main complex, will welcome guests on Jan. 28, 2010, while the port will also be adding a Mayan Museum, set to open its doors Spring 2010.  These new facilities will not only welcome travelers from Pullmantur and Tui Thomson, but also from Royal Caribbean International’s Oasis of the Seas, and Norwegian Cruise Line’s Epic. The much-awaited vessels are both set to make their Costa Maya debut this coming summer.

Pullmantur has added Costa Maya to its 7-night “Mayan Caribbean” itinerary aboard the Pacific Dream.  Beginning March 20, 2010, the cruise line will make weekly calls through the end of June.

Tui Thomson will feature Costa Maya on two of its itineraries, the 14-night “Caribbean Experience” and 14-night “Cuban Adventure.”  Sailing aboard the Thomson Dream, the “Caribbean Experience” itinerary (beginning December 23, 2010) and “Cuban Adventure” itinerary (beginning December 30, 2010) overlap sharing six ports of call including Costa Maya.
