Seventy Ontario, Canada-based food companies attended the Cruise Ship Seminar hosted by the Ontario Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, June 15 and 16, in Toronto.
Key speakers included Oivind Mathisen, editor of Cruise Industry News, and Scott Steenrood, director of food and beverage operations at Celebrity Cruises The seminar was hosted by Murray Howatson, geographic officer for the U.S. for Ontario Food Exports.
Individual case studies were presented by King Cole Ducks, which delivers smoked duck breasts to cruise line and has sous-vide capability in-house, offering its customers full accountability from the egg to serving. Award-winning Vincor Canada, producer of ice wine, which also delivers to cruise lines, presented its range of wines.
