Istanbul is working on a new port development project comprised of three cruise berths for mega-ships, in addition to a passenger terminal and a 750-berth yacht marina, Cruise Industry News has learned. The berths are expected to be completed by 2012, doubling the port’s current cruise passenger capacity of 500,000 passengers. Currently, Istanbul has three cruise berths, and can accommodate two mega-ships and one mid-sized vessel.
