Costa Maya Reports No Cases of H1N1

Costa Maya anticipates a fast return of cruise ship passengers to its shores as the World Health Organization emphasizes there is no need to restrict international travel to Mexico and recent statements from Mexican Health Minister Jose Cordova report a decline of influenza cases. According to Teofilo Hamui, Costa Maya’s president, “neither Costa Maya nor Mahahual, its neighboring fishing village, have had any reported cases of the H1N1 virus, which further solidifies this region as a safe place for travelers.”
