Celebrity Cruises is celebrating the spring equinox by revealing key dates leading to the launch of Celebrity Equinox, the top-rated premium brand’s second in a class of five sister ships entering service between 2008-2012. Celebrity Equinox will exit Meyer Werft shipyard June 6, 2009, and remain dockside until June 19-20, when the ship will make its conveyance – an event expected to attract hundreds of area residents along the banks of the River Ems – from Papenburg, Germany, to Emshaven, Netherlands. Celebrity will take delivery of the ship July 16, followed by inspections and a series of promotional activities for press, trade and other audiences prior to entering service July 31 with an 8-night Norwegian Fjords cruise.
