Fate Uncertain for Louis’ Ivory

Louis Cruise Lines’ 1957-built, 650-passenger Ivory is not sailing this year, but whether or not she will leave the fleet in 2009 is still in question.

“We are getting charter inquiries all the time, so at this point we really don’t know what’s going to happen with her,” a company spokesperson said.

In 2008, the Ivory catered to the local market, sailing two- to seven-day sailings out of Cyprus.

Louis is currently in the process of renewing its fleet. The line recently retired the Serenade and Princesa Marissa, and is receiving the Norwegian Majesty in December.
