Costa Names Carmen Corvos-Roig Director of Strategic Alliances & Key Accounts

Carmen Corvos-Roig has been named director of strategic alliances and key accounts for Costa Cruise Lines—North America, announced Scott Knutson, vice president of sales. Most recently, Corvos-Roig was business development director for Carnival Cruise Lines, overseeing the Miami-Dade region of Florida. In her new role, she will report directly to Knutson.

Corvos-Roig began her career with Carnival 28 years ago in embarkation and reservations, working for the company while attending the University of Miami, where she earned a bachelor’s degree. Upon graduation, she began her career in sales for the company as an outside sales representative for Northern Dade county and the West Coast of Florida. Corvos-Roig quickly grew the territory and was promoted to sales manager followed by business development director. During her time with Carnival, she was named “sales person of the year” and was consistently ranked among the top 10 sales representatives for the company. Corvos-Roig also worked closely with numerous Carnival top accounts, conducting training and seminars on behalf of the company.

“I know first-hand from working with Carmen over the years just how dynamic and driven she is as a sales professional and am thrilled to have her on the team,” said Knutson. “She is such a natural fit for the position with the relationships she’s built over the years with so many national accounts – I know our partners are going to truly value and enjoy working with her.”

Covos-Roig is actively involved in the South Florida community. She is currently on the advisory board of the Academy of Hospitality and Tourism of Miami-Dade County and was appointed by the Board of County Commissioners of Miami-Dade County to serve as a public official on the Tourism Development Council. Corvos-Roig resides in Miami Lakes, Florida with her husband Jorge and her two children.
