The Port of Marseille expects 700,000 cruise passengers in 2009, compared to 540,000 this year – 100,000 more passengers than in 2007.
In 2009, more than 10 cruise ships will be offering over 250 cruise departures from Marseille from January to December 2009 – for the first time – according to a statement from the port.
Both MSC Cruises and Costa Crociere have several ships that homeport in Marseille.
New callers next year include Princess Cruises’ Ruby Princess, Celebrity Cruises’ Solstice, and MSC’s Splendida.
