  • October 7, 2008

Fred. Olsen Cruise Lines has announced fare reductions and segment availability on its two world cruises for 2009, with segment savings of up to 78 percent off the brochure price.

The 97-night world cruise on Black Watch (BW951) departs Southampton January 6, 2009, sailing westward through the Caribbean, transiting the Panama Canal and visiting a myriad of ports in the South Pacific, Australia and Tasmania. She then cruises to the Indian Ocean islands en route to South Africa, West Africa, Cape Verde, Tenerife and Portugal before returning to Southampton. The reduced tariff for the full cruise includes a $950 onboard spending credit, pre-night hotel stay in Southampton, roundtrip transfers from a London airport to the port and back to the airport and an air credit of up to $300 per person. Cruise fares start at $21,590 per person, double occupancy, including port charges.

Two segments of the Black Watch world cruise are now available at substantial savings. Segment BW95131 will depart Sydney, Australia on February 22 and arrive in Southampton April 13 with fares as low as $11,242 per person, double occupancy and a $450 onboard spending credit. BW95123 departs February 5, 2009 from Papeete, Tahiti and sails to Sydney arriving February 22 with fares starting at $1,540 per person, double occupancy, for a savings of 78 percent off the brochure price.

Fred. Olsen’s newest ship, Balmoral, will sail eastbound from Dover, England, on February 14 on a 104-night cruise (BL034). The ship will sail through the Mediterranean en route to India, Singapore, Vietnam, China, Japan, Alaska, and the west coast of North America before heading home through the Caribbean and the Azores. The trip begins from Dover, England on February 14, 2009. This fare includes a $950 onboard spending credit, a one night pre-cruise hotel stay in Dover, round trip transfers from a London airport to the port and back to the airport and an air credit of up to $300 per person. Cruise fares start at $17,325 per person, including port charges.

A segment of this world cruise from Seattle to Acapulco (BL0343A) is now available. This portion of the cruise departs Seattle April 26 and arrives in Acapulco on May 6. Cruise fares begin at $1,335 per person, including port charges.

Fred. Olsen operates a fleet of five ships on unique itineraries of varying lengths. Two of their ships will be based in the Western Hemisphere this winter. The newly lengthened Braemar will be based in Miami for the winter 2008-09 season and Boudicca will be based in Barbados.
