Norwegian Dawn Pod Repairs

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) has announced that the Norwegian Dawn will be entering a previously unscheduled drydock on May 29 to conduct necessary repairs on a thruster bearing in the ship’s ABB-manufactured propulsion system.

NCL engineers discovered what the line called localized wear in the thruster bearing during routine inspection.

Meanwhile, the Dawn has been sailing at reduced speed to limit any further wear. As a result of the drydocking, however.

NCL will cancel two upcoming sailings on the Dawn on May 26 and June 2. The Dawn will be repaired at Boston Ship Rep Air. The work will also include painting and structural modifications.
