Ship News – Jan. 2006

Norwegian Cruise Line has named its two new ships under construction at MEYER WERFT and slated to enter service in 2007, the Norwegian Pearl and the Norwegian Gem.

P&O Cruises Australia has sold the 1,200-passenger, 1984-built Pacific Sky (ex-Sky Princess) to Pullmantur Cruises for an undisclosed amount.

The ship will leave P&O in the beginning of May; in 2007, P&O will instead receive the 1,590-passenger, 1991-built Regal Princess, which is slated to enter service late in the year.

The sister ship, the Crown Princess, was previously transferred to A’rosa Cruises, then to AIDA Cruises, and will move to Ocean Village in 2007.
