Star Cruises 2000 Earnings

The Star Cruises Group reported a net loss of $29.6 million, or $0.09 per share, on revenues of $1.3 billion for the year ended Dec. 31, 2000.

While the Star Group reported net income for both Star Cruises and Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL), the Group as a whole ended up with a loss attributed to interest expenses and other extraordinary items related to Star’s acquisition of NCL.

Star Cruises reported net income of $90.2 million, or $0.03 per share, on revenues of $391.7 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 1999. Star acquired NCL in February 2000.

For the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 2001, the Group reported a net loss of $54.9 million, or $0.2 per share, on revenues of $345.3 million. Star Cruises reported net income of $25.3 million, or $0.08 per share, for its fourth quarter of 1999.
