Norwegian Cruise Line 1997 results

Norwegian Cruise Line (NCL) posted net income of $5.7 million on revenues of $651.8 million for the year ended Dec. 31, 1997, compared to net income of $1.2 million on revenues of $657.5 million for 1996.

NCL reported 3,306,240 passenger cruise days and a load factor of 103.2 percent for 1997, compared to. 3,304,423 passenger cruise days and a load factor of 99.3 percent for 1996.

For the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 1997, NCL posted a net loss of $11.4 million on revenues of $165.5 million, compared to a net loss of $22.5 million on revenues of $134.9 million for the fourth quarter of 1996.

According to NCL, the fourth quarter was negatively affected by the Norwegian Star which was partially out of service.
