AMCV Logs Loss

American Classic Voyages (AMCV) reported a loss of $983,000 or $0.07 per share on revenues of $195.2 million for 1994, compared to net income of $4.2 million or $0.36 per share on revenues of $121.7 million for 1993.

AMCV also reported a net loss of $1.5 million or $0.11 per share on revenues of $51.7 million for the fourth quarter ended Dec. 31, 1994, compared to a net loss of $342,000 or $0.03 per share on revenues of $50.4 million for the fourth quarter of 1993.

The company attributed the net loss for the year and the fourth quarter to a one-time charge of $0.20 per share to American Hawaii Cruises due to “cancelled cruises and significant operating problems associated with the renovation of the Independence.”

AMCV operates American Hawaii and Delta Queen Steamboat Co.
