The last of the ships primarily marketed to the North American cruise market have now left the Mediterranean. Renaissance Cruises has repositioned the Renaissance III to the Caribbean and New England. The vessel was scheduled to begin Mediterranean sailings in April.
Princess Cruises and Windstar Cruises have cancelled the remainder of their 1991 Mediterranean programs. Windstar is now out of Europe altogether and will instead have two ships in the Bahamas during the summer. The Royal Princess will remain in San Juan an extra month and also sail cruises from Port Everglades before sailing on to a summer program in the Baltic.
Club Med is still sticking to its European summer program although itineraries for the Club Med I have been changed, instead the vessel will focus on the Western Mediterranean and sail from Toulon as well.
