The 25,000-ton, 772-passenger Costa Marina entered seven-day Mediterranean service from Genoa on July 22, 1990. She will be arriving in Port Everglades on December 13, for a winter program starting of alternating eastern and western Caribbean cruises, calling at St. Maarten, St. Thomas and Nassau; and at Cozumel, Playa del Carmen, Grand Cayman and Ocho Rios, before returning to the Mediterranean next April.

The Costa Marina, which was built by T. Mariotti at a cost of about $120 million, is a conversion of a former container vessel. A second conversion has also been ordered. In addition, Costa is building two new 1,350-passenger, 50,000-ton vessels at Fincantieri.
