Anheuser-Busch has sold its majority interest in Exploration Cruise Limited back to President and Founder Bob Giersdorf. One sales rep. for Exploration said recently that friction had been building between Anheuser-Busch and Giersdorf. The dispute was said to focus on itineraries and long-term growth vs. short term profits.
A spokeswoman at Exploration said the repurchase was part of the original agreement with Anheuser Busch. In St. Louis, a spokesperson said that the cruise line “doesn’t fit with Busch’s current diversification objectives.”
