Osaka Yeosu
New Terminal, Strong Potential
New Records eosu is expecting seven cruise ship calls this year,

spokesperson from the Tourism Division of Yeosu City told
Cruise Industry News.
Yeosu is one of South Korea’s seven major cruise ports,
geographically located in the southernmost part of the coun-
try, between Busan and Jeju.
The port is surrounded by 365 islands.
Although Yeosu is still in the early stages of developing
as a cruise port, it has the potential to become a key hub
for cruise tourism in Korea, according to the spokesperson.
Fifteen calls are projected for 2026.
To better accommodate the rising number of cruise pas-
sengers, the city is expanding shuttle bus routes that connect
key tourist attractions and improving integration with city
tour products.
There are also new local cultural experience programs
for cruise passengers, such as cooking classes featuring
regional cuisine. In addition, there are upgrades coming to
the city’s multilingual signage and information systems.
Osaka is set to welcome a record-breaking 66 calls in 2025.

According to Nakakoji, Osaka continues to break tourism
records. It is also the closest port to Kyoto and Nara, two of
the country’s most popular tourist destinations.
“Located approximately 30 minutes from the Kansai In-
ternational Airport, it is accessible and used by many visitors
as a gateway to Kansai and western Japan,” Nakakoji added.
The port was set to see 66 calls in 2025, a new record, which
is set to be eclipsed by 80 calls in 2026, bringing 140,000
cruise guests to Osaka.
The port has two main cruise berths: the Tempozan Wharf,
which is 430 meters long and can accommodate ships up to
220,000 tons, and the Central Pier North Wharf, which is 210
meters long and can accommodate ships up to 30,000 tons.
