STX France: More Orders Coming?

French financing institutions have beefed up their efforts to provide loans to potential cruise ship orders going to STX France, Cruise Industry News has learned.

With four ships on order, including a pair of new MSC Cruises prototypes and two more Oasis-class vessels for Royal Caribbean International, it is unclear what STX France may have in the pipeline, following rumors on Monday of a new prototype order going to Meyer Werft’s potential Turku yard for Norwegian Cruise Line, on top of what Is assumed to be a potential Royal Caribbean and Celebrity ship order in Germany.

The 2014 cruise industry grapevine has been anything but boring, suggesting market entries from Richard Brandon’s Virgin brand, and potential looming orders from Oceania Cruises and Crystal Cruises, as well as perhaps, other new players.
